Building homes is in my blood. My grandfather built and renovated homes, my uncles build and renovate homes, and my parents spent most of my life renovating an old house that is the amazing home where I grew up. As a child, when I needed quiet time to myself, I would design buildings of all kinds.
Today, I have the pleasure of not only doing something I love but also being a part of a collaborative and dynamic team at Contignum.
I graduated from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto and worked with the state of the art daVinci Surgical System, consulting designers on operating room layouts for the new surgical suites to be built. I then returned to the University of Toronto to do a Masters of Applied Science. After graduation I continued to work at the university to advance the technology I helped develop for commercialization. This experience in entrepreneurship and project management led me to MultiSolv where I learned about the asphalt industry, and now to Contignum.
Building a solar panel for heating.
As a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager at Contignum I am the one who ensures your space will be comfortable and that the mechanical systems are integrated into an aesthetic design. I am also responsible for project management at Contignum.
I am very interested in sustainable development, energy conservation, passive house design, and ensuring high-quality designs turn into high-quality builds. My interest in sustainability started at a young age when I built a solar panel of sorts to capture and measure heat energy from the sun. Combining my passion for sustainability with my background in engineering, I use Building Science Principles to optimize building performance and sustainability.
