As a kid in the ‘90s in Ukraine, I always wanted to explore my country and the world. I enjoyed trips to the Black Sea with my parents, vacations in the Carpathian mountains with friends, and school tours to different cities.
One of these trips changed my vision for the future. I was lucky enough to go on a two-week student exchange to Paris, France. I was incredibly inspired by the architecture and history of the country and its culture.
From that moment on, I knew I had to pursue a career in architecture and design.
The six years of architectural school at university in Kyiv was one of my best periods of my life. I learned so much, and still continued to travel and explore new places.
After graduating with my master’s degree I got a position as an engineer of the architectural department in the Special Design Institute in Kyiv, Ukraine. I was involved in over 250 projects, from residential houses, dental offices, and commercial spaces to police stations, resorts, and government buildings.
But my desire to explore the world didn’t stop. In 2015 I woke up in a hotel room next to Pearson airport in Toronto. I was mesmerized by the view of the city from the cab. I completed a postgraduate program in architecture at one of the colleges, and soon met Jacob Kachuba, who brought me into Tignum/Contignum. I’m enjoying being part of a professional team that works to bring the highest level of design and services to our clients.
(And I’m now having fun exploring the stunning lakes, mountains, and oceans in Canada.)
